A Heartwarming Picture Story of Friendship

A Heartwarming Picture Story of Friendship

After losing his parents, this 3 year old orangutang was so depressed he wouldn't eat or respond to any medical treatments. The veterinarians thought that he would surely die because of sadness.

DEF4546

The zookeepers found an old sick dog on the grounds in the park at the zoo where the orangutang lived and took the dog to the animal treatment center. The dog arrived at the same time that the orangutang was being treated.
DEF4546

The two lost souls have been inseparable ever since. The orangutang found a new reason to live and each animal always tried its best to be a good companion to his new found friend. They are together 24 hours a day in all their activities.

They live in northern California where swimming is their favorite past time...although Roscoe (the orangutang) is a little afraid of the water and needs his friend's help to swim.
EFG4546

Together they have discovered the joy and laughter in life and the value of friendship.

They have found a friendly shoulder to lean on. - Lon g Live Friendship!!!
I don't know...some say life is too short, others say it's too long, but I know that nothing that we do makes sense if we don't touch the hearts of others while we have the chance. May you always have Love to Share, Health to Spare, and Friends who Care....even if they are a little hairy at times :)

A Wonderful Story of the Value of Friendship

A Wonderful Story of the Value of Friendship

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some
point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face.

The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND
SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE.

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him.

After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:
TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE.

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?” The other friend replied “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds
of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND
AND TO CARVE YOUR BENEFITS IN STONE.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person,
an hour to appreciate them,
a day to love them,
but an entire life to forget them.

Do not value the THINGS you have in your life…
But value those WHO you have in your life!

Short Love Stories That Will Touch Your Heart (part 1)

Have you ever wanted to read some real-life stories of people who sow their love to others not only by what they say but by what they do? Well, here is your opportunity! In today’s blog, you will find five little stories of love that will certainly touch your heart. I will post some more in my next story. Enjoy!

Short Love Stories That Will Touch Your Heart (part 1)

Today, my 75-year-old grandpa who has been blind from cataracts for almost 15 years said to me, “Your grandma is just the most beautiful thing, isn’t she?” I paused for a second and said, “Yes she is. I bet you miss seeing that beauty on a daily basis.” “Sweety,” my grandpa said, “I still see her beauty every day. In fact, I see it more now than I used to when we were young.”

Today, my 8-year-old son hugged me and said, “You are the best mom in the whole entire world!” I smiled and sarcastically replied, “How do you know that? You haven’t met every mom in the whole entire world.” My son squeezed me tighter and said, “Yes I have. You are my world.”

Today, I was sitting on a hotel balcony watching 2 lovers in the distance walk along the beach. From their body language, I could tell they were laughing and enjoying each other’s company. As they got closer, I realized they were my parents. My parents almost got divorced 8 years ago.
--------------------------
Today, I was in an accident that left me with a gash on my forehead.  The doctors wrapped a bandage around my head and said I have to keep it on all week.  I hate wearing it.  Two minutes ago my little brother walked into my room wearing a bandage on his head.  My mom said he insisted that he didn’t want me to feel alone.

My grandpa keeps an old, candid photo on his nightstand of my grandma and him laughing together at some party in the 1960’s. My grandma passed away from cancer in 1999 when I was 7. This evening when I was at his house, my grandpa caught me staring at the photo. He walked up, hugged me from behind and said, “Remember, just because something doesn’t last forever, doesn’t mean it wasn’t worth your while.”

The King, a Mouse, and Their Friendship

This is the third and last story in my series of “Stories of Friendship.”
Life is short but the life of friendship is supposed to be long and everlasting. This short story of friendship makes you understand what friendship is and what you should keep in mind when someone offers you his or her friendship. You might already be familiar with this short story about friendship. If you are, you are advised to go and read it again. It will clarify the idea of friendship and make the concept of friendship clearer for you. In this story, you may find an important truth that you had not known until now.

The "King", a Mouse, and Their Friendship
jada-jada.blogspot
~ An Aesop fable ~
Once upon a time a Lion was sleeping in his den when a little Mouse began running up and down upon his body. This soon wakened the Lion.

Greatly angered, the ferocious beast placed his huge paw upon him, and opened his big jaws to swallow him.

"Pardon me, O King," the little Mouse begged for forgiveness: "let me go this time. What will you get if you kill me? Besides, who knows but what I may be able to help you when you meet some crisis someday?"

The Lion was amused at the idea of the little Mouse being able to help him. He lifted up his paw and let the mouse go. The little mouse thanked the lion and ran away as fast as he could.

Soon after this encounter, the Lion was caught in a trap laid by some hunters. He tried and tried to free himself from the terrible net of ropes that he was caught in. But all his efforts proved futile. He roared and roared in anger and helplessness. He knew that death was imminent. At the first light of the dawn, the hunters would arrive and carry him off to the King.

When the little Mouse heard the lion's cries, he immediately understood that the king was in some great danger. He ran fast in the direction where the lion's cries were coming from. Soon he arrived at the spot where the lord of the jungle was trapped. Seeing the sad plight in which the Lion was, the mouse went up to him and soon gnawed away the ropes that bound the great beast.

The mighty lion understood that even the smallest creatures can be of help if the need arises. That day on, the lion and the mouse became the best of friends. They were always there for each other.

Never underestimate friends
This short story of friendship makes you understand what friendship is all about. One should never underestimate friends because of their size or position. We must be friends with all kinds of people, even with those who are inferior to us in size, rank or social status. This is the message that I hope you learned through this short story.  So, never ignore the offer of friendship from anyone whom you consider beneath yourself in any way. One never knows who may help you in your times of need.

A Friendship in the Midst of Racism: The Jackie Robinson Story

This article is the second part of a three part series that I decided to write about friendship. This is a great story of a true friendship.
Racism is an ugly and repulsive belief that millions of people around the world still believe in this poisonous mentality. Therefore, it is always good to hear of stories of people who took a stand against racism despite what people thought of them. Today’s story is about two professional baseball players. One that had to face the evils of racism everywhere he went…and another who decided to show people how he felt about racism and be a friend to his teammate.

A Friendship in the Midst of Racism
whenitwasagame.com
Jackie Robinson was the first black to play major league baseball. Breaking baseball's color barrier, he faced jeering crowds in every stadium. While playing one day in his home stadium in Brooklyn, he committed an error. The fans began to ridicule him. He stood at second base, humiliated, while the fans jeered. Then, shortstop Pee Wee Reese came over and stood next to him. He put his arm around Jackie Robinson and faced the crowd. The fans grew quiet. Robinson later said that arm around his shoulder saved his career.

Same story different version:  One example of friendship remains with me as vividly as the moment I first heard of it as a boy. In his first seasons with the Brooklyn Dodgers, Jackie Robinson, the first black man to play Major League baseball, faced venom nearly everywhere he traveled--fastballs at his head, getting spiked on the bases, brutal epithets from the opposing dugouts and from the crowds. During one game in Boston, the taunts and racial slurs seemed to reach a peak. In the midst of this, another Dodger, a Southern white named Pee Wee Reese, called timeout. He walked from his position at shortstop toward Robinson at second base, put his arm around Robinson's shoulder, and stood there with him for what seemed like a long time. The gesture spoke more eloquently than the words: This man is my friend.
~ Willie Morris in Parade ~.

There are many people who are lonely, made fun of, and need someone to stand up for them…regardless what others say. So, be a friend... a real friend to someone today.
